I left Finn a note yesterday saying to turn the heat pump on, get a snack and relax. I came home today and found him and John preparing to leave the house, with Finn having left me this note telling me to put the heat pump on and make myself at home. Very thoughtful of him.
I had 6.5 hrs of vaccuming and wiping and then walked up Mt Iron with Finn, John his mum and brother Elliot. Finn and John didn't get long at his house as his mother had other plans. It was a lovely evening and the children even enjoyed themselves. Meg wasn't feeling so good and didn't come. She has gone to bed early (unheard of) and Spook has gone out for dinner with Steve and Kevin (from Auckland).
Yesterdays travel article in the paper was of skiing in Iran. Two areas - Dizin and Shemshak. Day pass for $US14. But $2500 NZ dollars to get there. Excellent snow and very friendly people. www.odt.co.nz see video - keyword: Dizin.
They are very friendly here too. Also lot's of Scots accents on the ski fields. The first day I was there, the car park attendant was from Dumfries. Spook is off on Friday and I might not be working iether so it would be good if the snow holds off long enough for us to have some pleasant boarding. Snow is forecast for the weekend. It will be the first dampness of any kind for weeks. The Lake is lower than it was in the summer as the Upper Clutha drains out and the water on the hills is frozen and not running in.
