Mary got VERY excited today. Some small snow flakes fell and then some large ones. There was a very light covering of snow on the grass outside. She said that we might all have to go home before it was too late. She needed time to get to the supermarket so she could buy chocolates and get home to light the fire, snuggle up and eat them. She figured none of us would make work tomorrow and everything would close down. We were at the 6 bedroomed bungalow. Furniture arrived when we were there - 14 chairs for the dining table! The houses on this 'scheme' are well spread out, sitting on large sections. The neighbours garden is a vineyard.
When I got home, Meg came in giggling, saying that the bus children had all been sent home early because the snow bell had sounded once the bigger flakes started falling. She felt that the teachers got more excited than the students. She was giggling because this is all that was left of the snow (photo).
If feels damp for the first time in ages, and although is warmer, feels colder. I am used to the impression of damp pillows and other materials in the bedrooms, but they seem a bit worse when it actually is damp outside. I remember everything feeling like this in student accomodation in Dundee.
Finn has succumbed to the upward lilt at the end of every sentence. He has been doing that for a few weeks now, (Meg succumbed in the first week). He accuses me of sounding very Scottish.
grateful for:
sounding Scottish.
