DEAR SPOOK, it was a beautiful clear morning with wee strands of low lying mist. A lovely contrast to the endless rain of the last few days. The sun shone for most of the day, but had clouded over by the time I got home from work. The duller picture of The Ben, gave way to the brighter one within 5 minutes of getting home though. As usual, the skiers will get excited about the snow on Aonach Mhor (1st photo), and it will be thick and beautiful round about the time that Nevis Range closes (end of November) for a few weeks maintenance. Then it will melt away when it is time to open again (Christmas).
Finn came home with a big bruise on his chin. One of the triplets flipped up her hockey stick and nearly took him out all together. Those girls aint the cute wee innocents he knew from Gaelic nursery!! Once it reaches it's full glory, I will send you a picture. He has French homework to do, but is more interested in telling me the Polish swear words he has learnt. Somehow he thinks it is not really swearing when it is in another language. As I have also learnt a few swear words in Polish, I can tell him with some authority that it does count and will be punishable by many housekeeping duties.
Meg is keeping us both on our toes. Tonight they will stay at The Camerons and I will stay along the road, before going to Mum and Dad's tomorrow. I will need to be home early as Tracy is hosting the bonfire party this year and there has been much preparation. It will be nice for someone else to worry about the health and safety issues for a change. Finn still thinks we will be lighting a fire on Saturday, but I think it would take a tank of diesel to light anything just now.
