DEAR SPOOK, no photo's today. You got plenty of them yesterday. I was home alone last night, which made going to work not so bad as I wasn't abandoning children. I managed to be in the right place at the right time to shout encouragement out the window to the children running in the Canal Bank race. I don't suppose I lent any sophistication to the Superior Rooms that I was supposed to be cleaning, but I think a couple of kids nearly fell in the canal, spinning around to see where the shouting was coming from (behind a net curtain).
My resignation was accepted well. I think they were glad enough of the help over the last couple of weeks at the tail end of their busy period and haven't expected me to last very long. I'm not sure when I will start at work, but have sent them a such a long list of pre-arranged events that I can't think where they will squeeze 30hrs of work.
Meg had a great weekend with Al and Jamie, and to my amazement had Jamie run her down for the race! Both children enjoyed their races. She went back up the road, chopped wood and went to the Remembrance Sunday service at the Commando Monument. I have always meant to do this myself as there are fewer old Commando's coming back each year (this was training ground for the Commando's during the 2nd World War). Meg said it was very moving. Amy and Danii were in the Brass band, and it was very cold. (But not raining).
Frazer cooked us our Sunday dinner and of course we all said Grace again. It will be my turn to cook next week and I have warned Drew about the roof falling in on his head if he attempts Grace in our house.
