Spring-ish.

Apparently we have turned the corner on winter. It was 19degrees in Christchurch the other day. Spring is not considered to be until around the beginning of September, but it's hard to imagine that the worst of winter is over. The frosts at night have not been around for a while, even with the clear skies, but I'm sure they will be back. It is light at 7.30am and still light at 6pm now.

Meg had a lovely day at work. She ran errands out and about, and amongst her usual duties, acted as a store detective when there were a couple of dodgy looking characters in and Cathy had to serve customers. When it was quiet, she and her boss and husband sat out the front eating carrot cake as an enticement to customers and sure enough, they poured in. When it was quiet in the morning, she and Cathy poured over her new interior design book that Meg had just picked up from the post office and discussed ideas. Certainly beats cleaning toilets and poo tanks.

Finn had his prize-giving this afternoon. I like the ethos of the teaching and Iwould say it is what I have observed throughout the season. I don't know about Finn, but I will really miss the rugby.

Spook came home for lunch and we sat outside in warm sunshine.

grateful for:

rugby camaraderie and warm sunshine.
