There was a lot of aggression out there in the woods, and a disappointing amount of cheating - but that was only the adults. We had a lot of fun and it didn't end with the shooting, when Shannon told us that the O'Briens had invited us out to thier place for a bbq. Spook is standing with Mark O'Brien in the photo, who is married to Kerry, of the champagne and basketball. They have 5 children aged 2,3,5,7&9 (I think!) and live in what Spook describes as the best place he has seen yet. In the town, but secluded with uninterrupted views accross the lake to Treble Cone. It was a playground for the 13 children that were there. Not one of the children from the tiniest upwards, gave anyone any grief. Sitting outside on comfy chairs, under blankets, by the fire with a wide variety of music out of the very cosy house, I could see Spook thinking that there was a very easy version of his own Inveroy going on here. For the Turners to have treated us all to the paintballing, and the O'Briens the bbq, they are certainly making sure we don't leave without lot's of special memories. I suppose there is a special bond between people who uproot themselves and their children from their homes, as we all go through many of the same emotions, no matter what our situation. We have been quite overwhelmed with their generosity in sharing a lot of what they have, with us.
grateful for;
everything.
